FACTS OF HEMP!

  
Hi, Let me tell you something about HEMP, or CANNABIS, what's the same.
You all know that smoking that nice stuff, is more or less legal in the Netherlands, and now Belgium has liberated it's laws too! So we're all happy, VERY HAPPY!
But specially for the rest of the world (like the poor bastards who have to live in Countries like France, the UK and the USA) I've collected some facts, or better, 30 of them!


THE 30 FACTS OF HEMP
 
 
1. Cannabis or Hemp are the same!
"Marijuana" was the Mexican name, given to Cannabis.
2. Cannabis was first cultivated in China, around 4000 BC. 
3. The original drafts of the American Declaration of Independence were written on Hemp paper. 
4. One acre of Hemp will produce as much paper as four acres of trees.
5. Hemp is a source of fiber for cloth and cordage for rope.
6. George Washington and Thomas Jefferson grew Hemp. Washington, the first president of the US, declared "Make the most of the Hemp seed. Sow it everywhere"
7. Hemp seed is nature's perfect food.
8. The oil from Hemp seeds has the largest percentage of essential fatty acids.
9. The oil from Hemp seeds has the lowest percentage of saturated fats.
10. Sterilized Hemp seed is commonly sold as bird seed.
11. Rolling papers, like Bambu and Canuma, are made from Hemp paper.
12. In 1937, the Marijuana Tax Stamp Act prohibited the use, sale and cultivation of Hemp/Cannabis/Marijuana in the United States.
13. About all of the so called "civiliced" countries did so too, and declared Cannabis/Hemp/Marijuana an illigal drug.
14. Only Five years later, during World War II, the US Department of Agriculture released the film "Hemp for Victory" which encouraged American farmers to grow Hemp for the War effort.
15. Hemp is cultivated all over the world.
16. Today China, Korea, Italy, Hungary, Russia and France are among the countries that grew Hemp for fiber, paper and other products.
17. In the Netherlands, the USA, Belgium and most other countries, hemp is cultivated by private persons, on very small basis and for smoking pleasure only!
Only in the Netherlands and Belgium the risk of getting in trouble because of doing so is not very big!
18. Cannabis is classified as a schedule 1 drug by the Food and Drug Administration of the US. Designated as a narcotic, it cannot be prescribed by physicians to patients. 
19. In most countries Cannabis is called a Softdrug, and only a "little bit" illegal!
20. Cannabis can be used as a medicine to treat nausea, pain and muscle spasms. It alleviates symptoms of glaucoma, multiple sclerosis, AIDS, migraines and other debilitating ailments.
21. Countries like the Netherlands recognize the value of marijuana as a medicine.
And more and more European countries do so too.
22. 45 states of the USA have passed legislation permitting medical use of marijuana.
23. Twelve US citizens receive prescribed marijuana from US government, where the number of people that could be helped with marijuana is far over one hundred thousand!
24. More than 400.000 Americans are arrested each year on Marijuana charges.
Countries like French and the UK also believe Cannabis is public enemy number one!
25. In the Netherlands only a very few people get arrested on Marijuana charges, but only for growing and selling it big! And for sales of Harddrugs. 
In the rest of Europe, more and more countries start to realize that the Dutch way of thinking about Marijuana is the best.
26. More than 400.000 Americans die from disease related to cigarette smoking each year. A same percentage is dying in Europe.
27. Over 5.000.000 people in the "Western world" die in car-crashes, from stress at work, from eating trash (fast) food and many other "unnatural" reasons.
28. World wide, over 400.000 people die from alcohol abuse each year.
29. Aggression from alcohol kills many people every year.
Marijuana smokers are known to be non aggressive!
30. Stupid wars kill 1000s of people every year.
But in 10.000 years of usage, no one has ever died from Marijuana!
